De vuelta en la ciudad, hemos comido en un restaurante del centro. Hacía un día estupendo, mucho calor y el cielo azul. Este faquir entretenía a la multitud..

Back in town, we had lunch in the centre. Such a beautiful day, with blue sky and so warm. This fire eater kept the crowd entertained..

La ondulación Marcel - The Marcel wave

Uno de mis pasatiempos favoritos es mirar en los archivos de mi ciudad. El otro día encontré este anuncio de una peluquería en la que hacían la "ondulación Marcel" tan de moda en los años veinte y treinta...

One of my favourite pastimes is to look through my town´s newspapers archives..The other day I found this ad of a local hairdresser that use to do the fashionable "Marcel wave"

Así que miré a ver cómo se hacía la famosa ondulación...Creada por el peluquero francés Francois Marcel..en el siglo diecinueve. Las ondas se hacían con unas tenacillas calientes.

So I looked it up...It was created by the french hairdresser Francois Marcel in the 19th century. The wave was achieved by using heated curling irons...

...y se conseguía este estupendo resultado.
