Nuevos comienzos - New beginnings

Cómo me gusta esta foto junto a la iglesia que hicimos durante nuestras vacaciones en Inglaterra esta Navida. Una extraña aparición de "el genio"...
¿Qué tal...? Me alegro de ver que todo sigue en su lugar al emerger de las profundidades de una enooorme mudanza.

THE POEM (31-10-2011)

A strange wind across the aisles
of and old and gloomy place,
a place of windows and doors,
with a chill that froze her smile.

In a corner of a big saloon,
lied the silent piano and harp,
a shadow slipped through the time
and woke the dead notes back to life.



Upon the black looking glass
reflected a ghost dressed in white,
a lost soul with sorrow pale
that walked in the tunnel of time.

See the image outside,
amongst the damp ivy asleep
green mosses covered her face
white roses are dead in her hands.

The Ghostly Mirror - El espejo espectral

I heard the saddest of songs
as I emerge from the depths
I open my eyes and see
a distorted image of Me...

Oigo un triste lamento
al emerger de la nada
abro los ojos y veo,
mi imagen distorsionada...



I put my arms through the glass
my hands are covered in blood
shadows of willows and wind
a distorted image of Me...

Mi brazo atraviesa el cristal
mi mano, ahora ensangrentada,
entre las sombras del sauce y el viento,
mi imagen distorsionada...



A ghostly mirror reflects
the troubled waters of life
tears that flooded my peace
a distorted image of Me...

Un espejo espectral refleja
de una vida, su agua agitada
lágrimas que inundan mi paz
y mi imagen distorsionada

Feria de antigüedades de Torre Pacheco - Antique fair finds

El pasado 26 de septiembre "el genio" cumplió su primer año de existencia...Próximamente haré una entrada para celebrarlo...Entretanto, aquí os dejo con los tesoros encontrados durante mi búsqueda en el rastrillo de Torre Pacheco...

Last september 26th was "the scowl and smile´s" first anniversary...I still have to do a post to celebrate..In the meanwhile I thought I would show you my treasure finds at Torre Pacheco´s antique fair..


Una vieja botella de botica, de los años treinta, con su etiqueta original y sus hierbas curativas aún en el interior...

An old apothecary bottle, complete with original label and healing herbs inside....


Una bandeja Art Deco de los años veinte, con asas de bakelita, que usaré para mis botellas de cristal y bisutería...y dos pequeños interruptores de madera de los años sesenta, con pulsador de porcelana...

A 1920`s Art Deco creamy tray, with authentic bakelite handles, that I will use to display my glass treasures and other trinkets...and two small 1960´s wooden light switches, with porcelain buttons.


Se me ha ocurrido que estos interruptores quedarían muy bien en un par de habitaciones de nuestra nueva casa.
Sí, nueva...!

I thought these cute switches will look great displayed in a couple of rooms in our new house. Yes, new!!!
